FRSC boss disowns fake Facebook accounts

Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC),
Boboye Oyeyemi, has disowned fake Facebook accounts opened in his name.

The FRSC in a statement on Tuesday warned Nigerians not to fall for fraudsters who pose as Mr Oyeyemi especially as the corps marshal was not currently operating any Facebook account.

The statement was signed by the FRSC spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, and made available to Qed.ng.

It reads: “The Federal Road Safety Corps Management’s attention has been drawn to the fraudulent activities by some dubious individuals who are bent on using the images of the Corps Marshal), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi MFR, mni, Npom, to open purported Facebook accounts with intent to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“These accounts are fake, as the Corps Marshal is not currently operating any Facebook Account. Conscious of the vulnerability of some people who might fall into the hands of these criminally minded people by relying on the false information, such as date of birth, events / occasions, etc., being uploaded on these accounts, members of the public are strongly advised to be wary of these accounts.

“Accordingly, these accounts have been reported to Facebook Admin and we use this medium to warn members of the public to disregard any form communication being initiated by any of these accounts.”
