The management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of its late student Christiana Idowu.
Ms Idowu, a 300-level student of the Department of Pure and Applied Botany, was killed in Lagos after being kidnapped.
Ayomide Adeleye, 23, is in police custody over the incident.
The university, in a statement signed by its acting head of the directorate of public relations Olasunkanmi Olajide, disclosed that a delegation led by the deputy vice-chancellor (academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, and the Student Union president, Ibraheem Adeyemi, visited the family on Friday to condole with the bereaved mother and other family members.
“This act of violence must not go unanswered. We call on the Nigeria Police Force to expedite their investigation and ensure that justice is not delayed,” the statement said.
