April Fool’s Day, marked every April 1st, is known for its tradition of pranks and hoaxes.

While its exact origins are unclear, one theory links it to France’s 16th-century calendar switch from the Julian to the Gregorian system.

Those who continued celebrating the old New Year around April 1st were dubbed “April fools.”

Over time, the practice spread globally, with individuals and media outlets pulling elaborate stunts to trick people before revealing the joke with a classic “April Fools!”
