Actress Funke Akindele has garnered widespread applause from Nigerians for her clever PR strategy featuring casts of A Tribe Called Judah to promote her new film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, set for release in December.
In an Instagram post shared on Monday, Funke featured a playful video showcasing a tug-of-war competition between the casts of her two movies, A Tribe Called Judah and Everybody Loves Jenifa.
The video highlights a humorous battle between the two films to determine which would hit the screens first. After several back-and-forths, Everybody Loves Jenifa emerged victorious.
Nigerians quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to commend Funke Akindele’s inventive promotional strategy.
One user, Deola tweeted, “Funke Akindele is really who she thinks she is. A Queen!!!!!”
Bukky added, “Leave movie PR for Funke Akindele. She’s so creative.”
Other users also chimed in, with McDreamy stating, “Funke Akindele!!! That’s the tweet! Coz even this PR sweet pass movies. Give it to her abeg.”
Oliver commented, “This Funke Akindele video just puts her miles ahead of her peers. Nobody is touching this kind of advert in Nollywood 2024.”

Her previous film A Tribe Called Judah, released in December 2023, broke records by grossing a total of N1.4 billion.
Everybody Loves Jenifa is a spinoff from her wildly popular Jenifa franchise which has cemented Funke’s place as a powerhouse in Nollywood.
Among actors who featured in the promotional video are, Nancy Isime, Timini Egbuson, Patience Ozokwo, Tobi Makinde, Jackie Appiah and Jidekene Achufusi.
