Actress Funke Akindele has reacted to her estranged husband JJC Skillz’s birthday message to her.
JJC compiled videos of the actress which he posted on Instagram on Wednesday, calling her his ‘darling mama Ibeji’.
He wrote: “Happy birthday my darling mama Ibeji. I pray our children embody the goodness of God and be a blessing to generations. Today is your day, celebrate and live to the fullest. Long life and prosperity.”
Reacting in the comment section of the post, Funke thanked him for the birthday wishes.
She wrote: “Thank you so much baba ibeji. I appreciate it o. Amen to your prayers.”
Funke also took to Instagram to celebrate herself.
She wrote: “Oluwaseun! Happy birthday to you OLUFUNKE AKINDELE!! The Lord will never forsake you in Jesus name! AMEN!!”.
JJC Skillz born Abdulrasheed Bello left a shocking message for his Instagram followers on the platform on Thursday, June 30 where he announced his separation from the actress.
According to the rapper, the last two years had been difficult for them and he tried his best to make things work. He added that Funke asked him to leave the house months ago.
JJC also said he believes his marriage to Funke was beyond repair.
He wrote: “Dear Friends and family I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us. I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now.
“3 months ago and at Funke’s insistence I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship. I’m making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as the custody and wellbeing of our children which is paramount as well as business interests that need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other.”
The ex-couple got married on August 23, 2016.
