Award-winning filmmaker Funke Akindele has addressed a fan’s intrusive question about her personal life.
The 47-year-old who has been promoting her cinema projects internationally, shared new photos on her Instagram late Thursday.
In the comments section, a fan impressed by Funke’s work ethic asked, “Mama hope u dey get time collect preek? U are trying with the hard work. Create time to collect preek and massage. I love you and all you do.”
Responding with humour, Akindele replied, “Ha!!! Madamu.”
However, the exchange sparked backlash from other followers, with some criticising the fan for asking such a sensitive question, while others felt Funke should have avoided engaging with the comment.
Akindele’s latest project, Everybody Loves Jenifa, continues to make waves, recently breaking box office records with over N1.6 billion in gross earnings.
Released on December 13, the film features a star-studded cast, including Falz, Nancy Isime, Stan Nze, Omowunmi Dada, Layi Wasabi, Patience Ozokwor, Jide Kosoko, Tobi Makinde and Funke herself.
Everybody Loves Jenifa is the latest installment in the Jenifa’s franchise.
