Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has revealed the cast for her highly anticipated movie, Finding Me.
On Tuesday, May 28, Funke took to her Instagram account to introduce her cast with the caption, “FINDING ME 👀👀👀👀👀 meet the Stellar Cast!!!”
This announcement followed a series of teasers the actress has been sharing throughout the month of May, gradually unveiling the cast through reels. Weeks ago, she initiated the rollout with a transition video featuring some cast members donning “Finding Me” T-shirts.
The cast includes prominent names such as Ariyo Oluwakemisola Apesin, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Joseph Benjamin, Emeka Nwagbaraocha, Sharon Ooja Egwurube, Shaffy Bello, Omoni Oboli, and Femi Adebayo, among others. Despite the excitement surrounding the cast, details about the film’s plot and its exact release date remain undisclosed.
This announcement comes on the heels of a disappointing run at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) for Funke’s previous project, A Tribe Called Judah. The movie failed to secure wins in any of its nominated categories. Additionally, Funke, who was nominated for Best Lead Actress, lost to Kehinde Bankole, who took home the award for her role in Adire.
The cast for Funke’s record-setting movie A Tribe Called Judah includes Funke Akindele as Jedidah Judah, Jide Kene Achufusi as Emeka Judah, Timini Egbuson as Pere Judah, Uzee Usman as Adamu Judah, Tobi Makinde as Shina Judah, and Olumide Oworu as Ejiro Judah.
Others are Ebelle Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Nse Ikpe Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Faithia Williams, Nosa Rex, Greg Ojefua, Ibrahim Yekini, Boma Akpore, Paschaline Alex, Etinosa Idemudia, Juliana Olayode and Yvonne Jegede.
