Olubunmi Akindele, sister of actress Funke Akindele, has bagged a master’s degree in media, communication and culture at Coventry University in London.
Olubunmi made this known in an Instagram post on Sunday as she appreciated God for her latest achievement.
She also acknowledged her sister Funke Akindele for the latter’s support. Olubunmi said that Funke paid for her tuition and accommodation.
“So I rounded off my master’s programme @coventryuni_int#CoventryUniversity officially in September 2021. And to the glory of God, I graduated with merit ( and a distinction in my thesis).
“Tomorrow ( 15th November 2021), the convocation ceremony of Dept of Media, Communication and Culture,(class of 2021) will hold.
“My profound gratitude to the most high God for HIS grace and mercies all through the programme.
And to my sister @funkejenifaakindele who out of her benevolence sponsored my tuition and accommodation. Afunky, I can’t thank you enough for your kindness, I’m eternally grateful,” she wrote in parts.
Funke also congratulated her sister in the comment section of the post saying, “Congratulatulations my darling sister. Love you so much. God bless and keep you safe and healthy always.”
Olubunmi Akindele is Funke’s older sister, they also have a brother Proga Akindele.
Their mum is a medical doctor while their dad was a retired school principal.
During her birthday in March, Funke’s husband Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz revealed that Olubunmi was the one who introduced him to the actress. In a birthday message to Olubunmi, JJC Skillz thanked her for introducing them.
“Sister of life, thanks for everything, especially for introducing me to your lovely sister. You are now my sister got life. God bless and may you have a long life and prosperity,” he wrote.
Born in Ikorodu, Lagos, Funke is also a filmmaker and has produced several films and TV soaps including Jenifa’s Diary and her hit film Omo Ghetto: The Saga.
