Osun State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, has dissociated herself from Facebook accounts using her name and photographs.
In a disclaimer issued on Friday on her authentic Facebook account, Mrs Egbemode warned the public to disregard information from such fraudulent accounts and report them.
“My attention has been drawn to some fake accounts being operated with my name and photographs. The fake accounts were open for the purpose of defrauding unsuspecting members of the public,” she wrote.
“Kindly disregard information from such accounts and report same. This is my real and only account.”
Egbemode was sworn in as Osun commissioner in October 2019.
She was until her appointment the president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
