First Lady Aisha Buhari paid tributes to the late businessman Isa Funtua on Wednesday, saying he got female politicians appointed into various boards of directors in the last four years.
Funtua, a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, died on Monday night in Abuja after suffering a heart attack.
Mrs Buhari also commiserated with the deceased’s widow in a social media post.
“Inna lillahi Wa inna ilaihi Raji’un. On behalf of my family, I extend our condolence to Mrs Hauwa Isa Funtua and the entire family on the sudden death of Malam Ismaila Isa Funtua,” she wrote.
“We pray that Allah SWT will grant him aljannatul firdaus.
“Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua will be remembered for his support to female politicians, especially his role to get them appointed into different boards in the last four years.
“May Allah grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, Amen.”
Funtua played a crucial role in the administration of President Buhari.
He was described as one of the “cabal members” made up of the late former chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari; and the president’s nephew, Mamman Daura.
Funtua was buried on Tuesday in Abuja.
