Actor Gabriel Afolayan has received a doctorate in philosophy of arts and culture from the Estam University in Benin Republic.
The actor shared the good news in an Instagram post on Monday night with photos of him wearing an academic gown.
“Dr. Gabriel Olasubomi Afolayan (Phd honoris causa of Philosophy in Arts & Culture) thank you @university_estam,” he captioned the pictures.
Gabriel also shared a video of himself via Instagram on Tuesday, accepting the recognition and giving a speech at the graduation ceremony.
“We will keep shaping the world positively with our Arts. Banner up everywhere we go. Great time with the great people of @university_estam,” he wrote.
Fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji was also conferred alongside Gabriel.
He shared a video of his emotional self on Instagram, accepting the honorary doctorate while encouraging his followers to never relent in the pursuit of their dreams.
“I was moved to tears as I got adorned in this beautiful robe. I have never been interested in fame, I just wanted to be happy with my craft and the lives that I inspire.
