Chief of staff to the president Ibrahim Gambari on Monday received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Gambari was vaccinated about 10:28 am at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.) also got the jab at 10:39 am while the permanent secretary of the State House Tijjani Umar received his at 10:43 am.
Senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity Garba Shehu was vaccinated at 10:41 am.
They were all vaccinated by the chief nursing officer of the State House Clinic Esther Ibrahim.
In his remarks, Gambari said the vaccination was painless and that he followed the footsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari who demonstrated leadership alongside his deputy by receiving the jabs publicly on Saturday.
He advised eligible Nigerians to take the vaccine, assuring them that it is safe.
