Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour on Wednesday clocked 40 just three days to the governorship election.
Rhodes-Vivour’s popularity increased when the Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi defeated the APC’s candidate and now President-elect Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
Obi’s victory in Lagos once believed to be under Tinubu’s grip has invigorated the LP to fight for the governorship seat.
Little wonder Rhodes-Vivour’s message on Twitter to his supporters is to come out en masse on Election Day in order to change the status quo.
“We value your votes, and we will defend them, please my good people of Lagos, come out to vote, we need big numbers to deliver the Lagos we want. We have security prepared as well methods to ensure election transparency!! You can do it, We can do it – Vote LP,” he tweeted on his birthday.
Rhodes-Vivour is from a family of lawyers. He is the son of Barrister Olawale and Nkechi Rhodes-Vivour. A former justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Bode Rhodes-Vivour is his uncle, while the late Judge Akinwunmi Rhodes-Vivour is his grandfather. He is the great-grandson of Steven Bankole Rhodes; the second ever indigenous judge appointed in Nigeria.
His marriage to an Igbo woman Ifeyinwa Aniebo has also endeared him to the Igbo voters in Lagos.
