Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila on Saturday evening hosted Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in Abuja.
Gbajabiamila, who is rumoured to be on the frontline for the position of chief of staff to President-elect Bola Tinubu, shared photos of the visit on Twitter.
He said the governor paid him a visit and they broke Ramadan fast together.
“Gov. Nyesom Wike paid me a courtesy visit at home this evening. We broke Ramadan fast together,” he wrote.
The visit has fuelled rumour that Wike may be preparing for his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after Tinubu’s surprise victory in Rivers in the February 25 presidential election.
But Wike has said severally that he would not leave the Peoples Democratic Party but would remain to see out those he claims are setting the party on the wrong path.
Gbajabiamila, meanwhile, was re-elected in February to represent Surulere 1 constituency. He has been in the House since 2003.
