Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has met with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Lagos State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The pair met on Tuesday after Mr Sanwo-Olu held talks with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday at Aso Rock.
The governor’s spokesman, Gboyega Akosile, said in a tweet that the new speaker paid Sanwo-Olu a visit “in appreciation of his support during his recent election as the number 4 citizen of the Federation.”
“Thank you for your support! Speaker of the House of Representatives, @femigbaja paid a courtesy visit to HE, @jidesanwoolu at Lagos State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja in appreciation of his support during his recent election as the number 4 citizen of the Federation,” Mr Akosile tweeted.
Gbajabiamila had on Monday held a ‘private’ meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Aso Rock, Abuja.
Speaking with reporters afterwards, Gbajabiamila said the meeting was about moving the country forward.
“Those were the issues we discussed; it was not a personal visit, but you can call it a hybrid between personal and official, but mostly official, addressing the issues of the problem.
“We discussed how the executive and the legislature can collaborate to make life better for Nigeria and Nigerians,” he said.
