Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has thanked China’s richest man, Jack Ma, for the donations sent to Nigeria for the fight against coronavirus.
The supplies arrived Nigeria on Tuesday at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos via an aircraft operated by Ethiopian Airlines.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Mr Gbajabiamila said the items would complement interventions by governments and the House.
“I appreciate the care shown to Nigerians by @JackMa @AlibabaGroup during this challenging period,” he said.
“The supply of Covid-19 Test Kits and other protective kits to Nigeria will go a long way in supporting the interventions by our @NigeriaGov, @HouseNGR and state governments,” he said.
The supplies from Jack Ma and Alibaba Foundations contain 5.4 million face masks, about 1 million test kits, 40,000 sets of protective gears and 60,000 face shields.
