Shooting Stars on Monday unveiled Gbenga Ogunbote as head coach ahead of the new season.
Ogunbote replaces Edith Agoye who joins Sunshine Stars. Agoye held the reins at 3SC for six years.
“I want to sincerely inform you that Shooting Stars is a traditional club with a rich country. Bringing back the club’s lost glory is not the issue or duty of Ogunbote as an individual but it is going to be a responsibility of everybody and all stakeholders including the government — owners of the club,” the former Rangers coach said after signing a two-year deal.
Ogunbote said he was confident of success, adding that his successes recorded during his previous two stints at the club made the management call on him again.
Ogunbote left his role as Remo Stars coach following the expiration of his one-year deal. He guided the Ikenne-based team to CAF Confederations Cup place.
