Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, says that gender equality is not a sprint but a marathon.
The 58-year-old made the statement following reactions to a comment she made on a picture of Big Brother Naija housemates, Mercy Eke and Ike Onyema.

“Gender equality is not a sprint but a marathon. AlutaContinua,” she wrote on Tuesday via Instagram.
Her comment follows her criticism of a viral photo of Big Brother Naija couple, Mercy and Ike.
The pair posed for a photoshoot said to be similar to that of American reality TV star, Kylie Jenner, and rapper boyfriend, Travis Scott.

In the photo, Mercy is seen sitting on Ike’s lap in clothing that had the full glare of her buttocks while Ike is fully clothed.
Joke said she did not understand the rationale behind a woman being half-dressed while a man is fully clothed.
