Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, has denied a report published about her in Nigerian newspaper, Vanguard.
The 39-year-old movie veteran made the denial via Twitter on Sunday.
“Fake news. I didn’t say any of that. Stop peddling rumors and enabling those who start it. Do better,” she wrote quoting the report.
The report in question has since been deleted.
It suggested that Genevieve Nnaji was defending the Igbo community in Lagos after a video showing Senator Remi Tinubu expressing her distrust for the Igbo’s wiped up tribal sentiments.
Genevieve released Lionheart, in 2018 to critical acclaim.
It was her directorial debut.
The movie premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
It was acquired less than 24 hours after its premiere by movie for rent service provider, Netflix.
The movie starred Nollywood veterans such as Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu, Nkem Owoh among others.
