The Circuit Court sitting in Accra on Friday sentenced Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo to three months in prison for posting a nude photo with her son on social media.
The court also ruled that the actress, whose real name is Rosemond Alade Brown, would serve 90 days in jail concurrently, BBC Pidgin reports.
The pregnancy test conducted on her came out negative, the court said.
Akuapem Poloo was arrested last July over the widely-criticised nude photo she took with her son to mark his seventh birthday.
The actress was convicted on Wednesday. She broke down in tears shortly after the court’s verdict on the case.
The court in the judgment argued that the reason for the punitive sentence was to have the case serve as deterrent to the general public.
The video vixen had earlier apologised for the photo saying she was not completely naked after she was questioned about it by the Ghanaian police.
She was arrested following a petition to the police by the Child Rights International.
Akuapem Poloo changed her plea to guilty on Wednesday after initially pleading not guilty on her first arraignment.
