Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh on Monday said that women should be involved in decision-making and not overlooked by their male counterparts.
The 38-year-old said this in an Instagram post as she celebrated International Girl Child Day.
“We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.
“A strong woman is a woman determined to do something others are determined not be done. I figure, if a girl wants to be a legend, she should go ahead and be one,” she wrote.
Also celebrating girl child day, her colleague Ini Edo encouraged girls to remain steadfast in the pursuit of their goals. The actress also pleaded that the girl child should be carried along.
“We can only move forward by carrying the girl child along. Our society can only be a better place when the girl child stand, represent and speak up for her people,” she wrote.
