Globacom has unveiled a special SIM card for the teeming traders and customers in the bubbly Alaba International Market in Ojo area of Lagos State.
The special SIM card was launched during the inauguration of new executives of Alaba International Amalgamated Traders Association led by the president, Nathaniel Anigbogu.
The association is the umbrella body of 16 associations that coordinate the affairs of traders in the market considered one of the biggest in West Africa.
At the launch, Globacom expressed readiness to empower the thousands of traders at the market by providing them with “an electronic ecosystem to connect with their vendors, clients and families. This will help the traders to showcase their products and services on-line, increase their profit margin and reduce congestion at the market.”
Globacom’s head, enterprise sales, Eric Uwaoma, said that Alaba SIM is an SME SIM which would allow them call one another and family members free of charge while paying very little for calls to other lines.
Mr Uwaoma explained that the new Alaba SIM is a wonderful business class package that would also offer them bonus data of 1GB monthly for fast and efficient connections especially on 4G.
He congratulated the new executives saying that their partnership with Globacom would birth a new era of prosperity and relevance as the company was more than capable to offer various solutions with its nationwide, superfast 4G LTE backed by Glo 1 submarine cable.
Mr Anigbogu promised to run an all-inclusive government, describing the partnership with Globacom as a welcome development that would assist the association to create more jobs for its members.
He called on government at the federal, state and local government levels to assist the market with the provision of good roads, electricity, clinics, fire service and security.
