Telecommunications company Globacom has partnered with the Oyo State Government to implement a traffic management solution aimed at transforming mobility and safety in the state.
The collaboration was officially launched by Governor Seyi Makinde who was represented by his chief of staff Ebenezer Ogunwuyi.
Speaking at the event, Mr Ogunwuyi highlighted the significance of the initiative in addressing the growing demands of urban mobility.
“As our cities grow and our economy expands, our approach to road safety, traffic flow, and urban mobility demands innovative solutions. The digitalisation of OYRTMA’s operations is a bold step forward in meeting these challenges head-on,” Ogunwuyi said.
Chairman of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), Major Adesagba Adekoya (Rtd), commended Globacom’s innovative approach to leveraging technology for complex challenges.
“Today, they bring their expertise to our traffic management efforts, and we are confident that their contribution will be transformative”, he remarked.
Globacom’s Enterprise Business Lead for the South West Region, Adeniyi Odejobi, reiterated the company’s commitment to driving technological advancements. He described Glo as not just a telecommunications firm but a digital solutions provider, offering services to enterprises, SMEs, public sector organizations, and millions of individuals nationwide.
The digitalisation of the traffic management project with Globacom, Odejobi said, will produce ” a smarter, more efficient OYRTMA workforce which will be able to effectively connect one another for the achievement of a seamless traffic management system in the state.”
Inusa Bello of MoneyMaster PSB also seized the opportunity to introduce the bank to OYRTMA staff.
