The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State for appointing Collins Edomaruse as his special adviser on international development partners.
In a statement issued by GOCOP publicity secretary Remmy Nweke the guild’s president and publisher of RealNews Magazine Maureen Chigbo, described Mr Edomaruse’s appointment as a positive and welcome development.
Ms Chigbo also extended her congratulations to Edomaruse, assuring him of support from GOCOP’s over 110 members in carrying out his duties effectively.
Edomaruse is a founding member of GOCOP and serves as the body’s secretary general. He is also a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
Before his appointment, he was the publisher and editor-in-chief of METROWATCH, and held several senior editorial positions at THISDAY. These included roles such as general editor, deputy editor for daily, Saturday, and Sunday editions, editor of the nation’s capital/Abuja bureau and group news editor.
