The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has congratulated Olufemi Soneye on his appointment as chief corporate communications officer (CCCO) of NNPC Limited.
Mr Soneye’s appointment as the company’s new corporate communications team lead was announced on Wednesday.
GOCOP also congratulated its pioneer president Malachy Agbo who was recently sworn in by Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State as commissioner for human development and poverty eradication.
Reacting to the developments, GOCOP president and publisher of RealNews magazine Maureen Chigbo applauded the appointments and enjoined the appointees to remain good ambassadors of the association while counting on the association for maximum support.
A press statement by GOCOP publicity secretary Remmy Nweke quoted Ms Chigbo as recalling that another high-ranking GOCOP member Rasheed Olawale of Sahel Standard, was recently appointed as the spokesperson of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, while Teslim Ajagbe of August24news was also appointed special adviser on digital communications to chairman of Lagos Island East LCDA, Muib Folawiyo
The GOCOP president noted that Mr. Soneye, until his appointment, was of the Per Second News while Mr Agbo was founding publisher of The Citizens.
She wished all the appointees success in their new roles, reiterating that the guild was ever ready to support and partner with them to ensure they delivered on their mandates.
GOCOP, a registered non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit organisation, comprises owners of online publications. It held its seventh annual conference in Abuja on October 4 and 5.
The conference was chaired by registrar and chief executive officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof. Ishaq Oloyede while Prof. Uche Joseph Uwaleke of the Nasarawa State University Keffi delivered the keynote speech.
