General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adeboye has broken his silence on the attack which left over 30 persons dead in a church in Owo, Ondo State.
Several gunmen stormed St Francis Catholic Church around midday on Sunday, June 5 and shot at worshippers, including children.
Adeboye said in an Instagram post on Tuesday that God is greatly displeased with the gunmen.
“My heart goes out to everyone who has suffered from this gruesome attack,” he said.
“I am unable to grasp the evil that motivates one human being to deliberately take the life of another.
“Every soul counts before God, and I know that He is greatly displeased with this wickedness.”
Commiserating with the families of the victims, the RCCG leader said, “I pray that God comforts the loved ones of the departed, and the people of Ondo at large.
“May we never have cause to send such greetings again. And may Nigeria never know such bloodshed again.”
Meanwhile, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has vowed to go after the attackers and bring them to justice.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited the church on Monday on behalf of the Federal Government.
