Kenyan gospel singer Mary Lincoln has found herself in another controversy one year after her private photos went viral.
Speculations that her alleged marriage to media personality Njogu wa Njoroge has crashed started after the duo stopped making public appearances together.
The alleged couple stirred public interest following reports of a traditional ceremony in 2020, which was attended by several media personalities and other celebrities.
Njogu wa Njoroge, who has children from a previous marriage, hosted a colourful birthday celebration for the singer in 2021 which further fueled the speculation about their relationship.
However, the duo has been conspicuously absent from public appearances for over a year, prompting fans to question the status of their purported union.
Close sources claimed that Mary Lincoln was sent packing from their Kiambu Road residence by Njogu Wa Njoroge after private images of her were leaked online, leading to public embarrassment.
In a recent interview with Kameme FM, Mary finally cleared the air about her marriage, stating that no one has paid her dowry. She dismissed claims of a union with Njogu Wa Njoroge.
“I saw those traditional wedding photos, but my question is, are there no events you attend and find yourself wearing similar outfits? I later came to learn that people were saying I was married. My dad has not received any dowry from any man,” the singer said.
The music artiste faced a harrowing experience in 2022 when explicit images were posted online, resulting in severe cyberbullying and backlash.
The photos were leaked and shared by blogger Martha Mwihaki Hinga, who is popular for publicising celebrity scandals to gain followers.

Speaking about the ordeal after the scandal, Mary revealed the depth of her struggles, including how she contemplated suicide.
“God helped me to be quiet in that particular time. He helped me overcome the cyberbullying. I recovered from that phase through God. I asked God so many questions at that time. I was ready to commit suicide and even planned to do it,” she said.
Recounting her first suicidal attempt, Mary spoke about the severity of the emotional toll and her ongoing battles with the “spirit of suicide”.
“I have also wanted to kill myself again and even took so many tablets not to see my children suffering. The spirit of suicide is very bad, and I would not be alive. People should not look at me on social media and wish to be like me, yet they don’t know what I have gone through,” she said.
