A student at Fordham University, New York, US, has died after falling off a forbidden clock tower in an alleged attempt to take photos for Instagram, Metro.uk reports.
The 22-year-old student, Sydney Monfries, who was scheduled to graduate in May, died on Sunday after she was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.
Police said she made a Snapchat video moments before she slipped through an opening on the Keating Hall tower which school authorities had prohibited for students.
Her friends said she was hoping to get some shots for Instagram.
Several students were quoted as saying that climbing the building is regarded as a pre-graduation ritual.
The university said they plan to posthumously award Monfries a bachelor’s degree in journalism, which she was set to receive in May.
