Afro-fusion singer, Burna Boy, has lost the 2020 Grammy for Best World Music Album to Angelique Kidjo.
Kidjo was announced winner for her album Celia at the 62nd Grammy Awards held on Sunday in Los Angeles, US.
Others alongside Burna Boy who were in the running for the award in that category are Altin Gun, Gece; Bokante & Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley, What Heat; and Nathalie Joachim with Spektral Quartet, Fanm D’Ayiti.
Host Alicia Keys joined by Boyz II Men began the ceremony with a tribute to basketball icon, Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning. His daughter, Gianna, also died in the crash.
With his 2020 nomination, Burna Boy joins the likes of Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade in getting listed in that category at the Grammy Awards.
