Supporters of Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, have stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly to protest against the planned impeachment of the governor.
The protesters carried banners that bore their agitations against the Assembly’s proposed move.
They said the move would disrupt the peaceful conduct of the elections. They are asking the lawmakers to allow Mr Ambode complete his tenure.
Qed.ng had reported on Monday evening that the Assembly had started gathering signatures for the move to impeach the governor.
Ambode is accused of gross misconduct and spending money not approved by the House.
The lawmakers have given Ambode seven days to respond to the allegations or face impeachment.
The police have staged their presence at the entrance of the Lagos Assembly to maintain order.
