Gunmen on Thursday morning abducted two nurses at the General Hospital in Idon, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna.
The incident occurred hours after gunmen abducted some students of Greenfield University in the state.
Chairman of Kajuru LGA Cafra Caino confirmed the attack on the hispital to the news media, calling on residents to remain calm.
The hospital’s medical director Shingyu Shamnom said gunmen gained access to the hospital through the fence.
He said the gunmen shot sporadically and whisked away two nurses on night duty.
“We were in our homes until a call was put through to us that it was kidnappers who invaded the hospital, only to discover that two of the nurses on night duty have been taken away by the bandits,” Shamnom said.
“The kidnappers went away with the phone of one of the staff whom we thought was also kidnapped but he later returned.”
