Gunmen on Thursday morning stormed the Utako, Abuja office of ThisDay newspapers, threatening to kill the company’s staff.
The incident comes 10 years after suicide bombers hit ThisDay offices in Abuja and Kaduna.
The newspaper noted that the armed men came in through the back fence of the company’s premises.
The gunmen, it further said, threatened to return in the future.
No company property was taken away in the operation which lasted for about 45 minutes,
The newspaper said it had since reported the matter at the divisional police headquarters in Utako, Abuja.
This is the first of such attack on the media in 2022.
On April 26, 2012, some suicide bombers hit ThisDay offices in Abuja and Kano, killing at least 11 persons. Moments later, another explosion occurred at a building which houses ThisDay and other media houses in Kaduna.
Three persons died in the Kaduna explosion including the suicide bomber. A few others were injured.
