Unknown gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday attacked the family home of suspended senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Sources said the assailants, numbering at least three, stormed the residence around 1:00 am armed with guns and cutlasses.
They reportedly smashed windows and damaged parts of the building, causing panic among residents.
The lawmaker’s chief security officer, Yakubu Ovanja, alerted the Okehi Police Division, prompting officers to swiftly respond to the scene.
While the motive for the attack remains unclear, Akpoti-Uduaghan is yet to release an official statement on the incident.
The senator, who represents Kogi Central, has been in the spotlight in recent days after accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.
Police say no arrests have been made, but a preliminary investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators and determine their motive.
