Unknown persons have kidnapped Ann Unenge wife of Benue commissioner for lands and survey in Makurdi, the state capital.
Mrs Unenge was taken captive around 6pm on Thursday, a relative told The Nation.
The victim had only returned from Daudu town where she went to visit her parents before she was waylaid.
Her vehicle, a Toyota Highlander, was reportedly taken away by the gunmen.
The newspaper said it gathered that the gunmen shot sporadically into the air to scare away passersby before driving away with their victim.
