Suspected gunmen have attempted to set ablaze a 34-year-old businesswoman, Tricia Adeyemi, at 10B Olorunsogo Street, Odojomu, Ondo State.
The suspects, numbering about three, were said to have gained access to the woman’s residence around 7 pm last Wednesday.
The assailants, The Nation reports, demanded to see her husband, who was not home at the time.
Mrs Adeyemi said she was beaten up and tied with a rope in her bedroom as her attackers set the house on fire.
The victim said the suspects ran off immediately she screamed for help.
“I was rescued by our neighbours before the arrival of fire fighters,” she said.
The woman said her family had faced similar attack last Christmas.
Adeyemi called on the police to tackle insecurity in the area.
