Gunmen have invaded a female hostel, Obafemi Awolowo hall, at the University of Ibadan (UI) and made away with valuables.
The incident, it was learnt, began around 1:30 am on Friday and lasted for several hours.
The gunmen went away with cash, phones, laptops, and other valuables.
The two injured students were taken to Jaja clinic for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen threatened to return and that the school’s security only came after the gunmen had left.
Spokesman for UI, Olatunji Oladejo, said the school’s security was working with the police to apprehend the suspects.
A source alleged that the rate of robbery in the institution increased following the ban of motorcycles within the school’s premises.
