Gunmen on Sunday whisked away Uche Nwosu, son-in-law of former governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha from a church service at his hometown, Eziama Obieri in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen arrived in Hilux vans and took Nwosu who was worshipping with his family at St Peter’s Anglican Church.
Reports say Nwosu’s security team showed no resistance.
Imo State commissioner for information and strategy Declan Emelumba said that the governor Hope Uzodimma, who has clashed severally with Okorocha, had no hand in the incident.
Emelumba said that it was “ridiculous” to allege that the governor had a hand in the disappearance of Nwosu.
