Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and the wife of the governor Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on Monday attended the remembrance event held in the honour of the late former Lagos State commissioner for women affairs and poverty alleviation in the Tinubu administration Kemi Nelson.
Nelson, the Yeye Sewa of Lagos, died on July 17, 2022.
The remembrance for Nelson was held at The Garden, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Also present was the chief of staff to the governor Tayo Ayinde among others.
Mrs Sanwo-Olu shared photos from the event on Instagram, saying: “Today, I had the privilege of attending the One Year Remembrance and celebration of Life of Late Chief (Mrs) Titilola Olukemi Nelson (Yeyesewa of Lagos) The memorial took place at The Garden, Ikoyi, Lagos State.”

Nelson died at the age of 66 of an undisclosed ailment.
She was formerly the executive director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
Nelson was a close associate of Tinubu although they both contested the Lagos West Senatorial District seat in 1992. She was a member of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) at the time.
The socialite was the women leader of Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress before holding the position of south west women leader of APC.
Nelson was notably the only female member of the Lagos State governor’s advisory council (GAC), the highest decision-making body in APC Lagos.
