Deputy Governor of Lagos State Obafemi Hamzat on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former governor of Lagos Lateef Jakande.
Jakande died on Thursday aged 91.
Mr Hamzat paid the family a visit at their Ilupeju residence in Lagos. He also signed the condolence register.
The deputy governor partook in the funeral prayers.
Also gathered for the prayers are former governor of Ogun, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and wife Funsho; wife of the deceased, Sikirat Jakande; and the former chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Ayodele Adewale.
A statement by the committee of friends of the late Jakande said pre-burial prayers would be held at number 2 Bishop Street Ilupeju, Lagos State on Friday at 9am while interment will take place at Volts and Gardens Ikoyi at 4 pm same day.
Jakande, a former journalist, was Lagos State governor from 1979 to 1983, and later served as minister of works under the military government of Gen. Sani Abacha.
