Hamzat, retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu in court for judgment on PDP, LP petitions

Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has arrived the Rosaline Omotoso Court house, Ikeja for the judgment on petitions filed by the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Also present in court is the chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos chapter, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi; and the former commissioner of police in Lagos, Hakeem Odumosu, who retired as assistant inspector general of police (AIG).

The LP and PDP alongside their governorship candidates in the election held on March 18, 2023, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Olajide Adediran aka Jandor, are challenging the victory of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat.

Hamzat arrived at the tribunal around 9:20 a.m. on Monday accompanied by some aides.

He sat with a close ally behind the area allocated to lawyers.

The tribunal members include Justice Arum Ashom, Justice Mikhail Abdullahi and  Justice I. P. Braimoh.

As early as 7.00 am, a large contingent of policemen in combat gears were seen near Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja to ensure security.

A bomb disposal vehicle and more police personnel were positioned around the court house.

The police and the court’s security personnel screened all those coming in.

They stopped political supporters from accessing the court.
