Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has endorsed Kunle Afolayan’s KAP Film Village & Resort ahead of its grand opening on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

In a collaborative Instagram post on Tuesday, Musawa described the project as a cultural landmark that blends innovation and heritage.

“I am pleased to introduce a landmark destination that embodies the spirit of innovation and cultural intelligence—KAP Film Village and Resort, founded by Nigerian renowned filmmaker Mr Kunle Afolayan,” she said.

“This world-class facility in Igbojaye, Oyo State, brings together art, culture, tourism, and filmmaking. It offers state-of-the-art film production facilities, immersive cultural experiences, and a serene retreat for relaxation.”

The post added that the grand opening would be hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the minister herself.

“The Grand Opening of KAP Film Village & Resort takes place this Saturday, April 12, 2025 in Igbojaye, Oyo State, a visionary project by Kunle Afolayan @kunleafo, in partnership with the Oyo State Government and the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism & the Creative Economy. Strictly by invitation,” it read.

The KAP Film Village & Resort is not Kunle’s first venture under the KAP brand.

In March 2022, he launched the KAP Film & Television Academy in Lagos with support from Netflix, offering training in various aspects of filmmaking.

He also unveiled the KAP Cinema, a vintage-style movie theatre, to provide a nostalgic viewing experience while promoting African storytelling.
