Broadcaster Reuben Abati has expressed gratitude to the Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, for gifting him and his wife, Kikelomo Atanda-Owo, a hand-painted portrait.
Abati shared videos on Instagram on Friday, revealing how Musawa personally created and presented the artwork as a thoughtful gesture.
“Wow! Honourable Minister Hannatu Musawa @honhannatumusawa truly left us speechless with this thoughtful gift to my wife and me. To know that she painted this herself makes it even more special. My wife calls this an intentional gesture straight from the heart. Minister Hannatu Musawa’s deep artistic background and poetic soul shine through in this masterpiece,” he wrote.
He further narrated how Musawa had earlier informed his wife about the gift. “When she called my wife, Kiki, two weeks ago to share that she had a gift for us, she graciously offered to have it picked up in Lagos. However, Ojy stepped in to receive it on our behalf, making the moment even more memorable.”
In another video, Abati is seen with his Arise News colleague, Ojy Okpe, as they admire the artwork. Okpe is heard saying the gift was to appreciate Abati for his “good work.”
Thanking the minister, Abati added, “You are truly one of the few ministers who lead with both passion and purpose. May God continue to bless and guide you in all that you do.”
Fans and well-wishers flooded the comment section, praising the minister’s artistic skills and the heartfelt gesture.
