Senior pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre Bolaji Idowu has confirmed reports that he was questioned by police detectives.
It was reported last week that he was arrested over allegations linking him to fraudulent real estate activities and money laundering.
Reports claimed he was detained by operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja and that his release followed the intervention of prominent Christian leaders.
But the cleric dismissed the allegation during Wednesday’s morning prayer session, stating, “I do not have any property in Nigeria. The only property I have in Nigeria is the one bequeathed to me.”
He clarified that he neither owns nor transacts in real estate within the country.
Idowu also refuted claims that billions of naira were funnelled into his accounts, emphasising the transparency of his financial records.
However, during church service on Sunday, he said he was only invited by the police, not arrested.
“I was invited over to help in the investigation concerning a member of the church who had gotten into some trouble,” Idowu said.
The cleric added that he would not speak further on the case because of its sensitive nature.
