Actress Hilda Dokubo has called out gospel singer Mercy Chinwo over the latter’s disagreement with Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, owner of her former record label EeZee Concepts.

In September 2022, reports that Mercy left the record label due to a disagreement over financial matters went viral.

The singer also made a cryptic post saying, “God protect us from people who are being strategic with us while we are being genuine with them.”

In a recent podcast, music producer Roy David accused Ezekiel of maltreatment, saying the record label boss withheld his financial gains after he produced ‘Excess Love’ and other hit tracks of Mercy Chinwo.

However, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Hilda Dokubo shared a screenshot of Mercy Chinwo’s 2018 birthday message to her former label boss, insinuating that mother of one has bitten the hands that fed her.

In the birthday message, Mercy described Ezekiel as a “blessing to our generation” and also thanked him for being a “father, mentor, brother and manager.”

Reacting, Hilda Dokubo wrote: “You might think that you know someone until you give them the opportunity to earn power, fame and fortune. ALL WHO BITE THE FINGER THAT FEEDS THEM MUST HAVE BLOOD IN THEIR MEAL.”

The actress also traded words with supporters of Mercy who accused her of attempting to damage the singer’s reputation.

But Hilda, who stated that she shares a close relationship with Mercy and Ezekiel, defended herself writing, “This nonsense has been on for over a year and have been quiet but the more am (sic) silent the more lies are spread and attempts are made by people who have never built anything in their entire life is spread out.”

Mercy was signed by the record label in 2017 after winning the Nigerian Idol season two in 2012.

Her major breakthrough came in 2018 with the song ‘Excess Love’ which gained her much popularity and recognition.
