Kano State Sharia Police known as Hisbah has invited American woman, Jeanine Delsky, and her Kano-based lover, Sulaiman Isa, to a meeting at their Panshekara office ahead of their wedding.
Isah’s father and brother were in attendance at the closed-door meeting held on Saturday.
The lovebirds plan on getting married in March after meeting on Instagram one year ago.
Ms Delsky, 46, who lives in California, USA, arrived on Saturday at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano and went straight to meet the parents of her lover.
Although, the outcome of the meeting with State Sharia Police was not disclosed; however, the intending couple were sighted sitting comfortably while the Hisbah officers interacted with them.
They also paid a visit to the state headquarters of the Hisbah Board along Sharada road.
Delsky, a mother of two, said many people had courted her online but she found Mr Isa, 23, as the most loving and sincere.
The American also said they would return together to the United States where they intend to start a family after getting married. The wedding is expected to hold in March.
Isa, who is currently a barber, recently completed secondary school education.
He hopes to get Delsky to become a Muslim.
Isa’s parents have expressed support for the relationship.
