R&B singer and actor, Banky W, has revealed a desire to open a world-class film and music school in Lagos.
The ‘Yes/No’ singer made this known on Wednesday with a message he posted on Instagram alongside the video of an alumni interview he had with New York Film Academy (NYFA).
Banky W, who said he has started soliciting for support, opined that it will be great if NYFA can begin as a summer school in Lagos in 2018.
“Even if we start with NYFA in Lagos as summer school type thing 2018, it would be so dope,” he wrote.
“I already started trying to reel in support for it from my corporate friends.
“With all the talented artists and storytellers we have, this is absolutely necessary. What do y’all think?”
The 36-year-old singer recently completed both the eight-week filmmaking and eight-week screenwriting programmes at NYFA in New York City.
He described that as a feather in his cap.
“Now, if I am pitching to get a TV commercial or to do a video, you know that I studied for it,” he said in the interview.
The traditional wedding ceremony between the singer and his fiancée, actress Adesua Etomi will hold in Lagos, Nigeria on November 19, 2017.
