Members of the House of Representatives, Shina Peller and Akin Alabi, have joined Nigerians in mourning trado-medical practitioner, Fatai Yusuf, popularly known as Oko Oloyun.
Yusuf was shot dead on Thursday by unknown gunmen on Igbo-Ora-Eruwa Road in Oyo State.
“It’s with deep sorrow in my heart that I first extend my condolence to his immediate family and loved ones. Abdul Fatai (Oko Oloyun) will forever be remembered for his good deeds and immense love for humanity,” Mr Peller said on Twitter on Thursday night.
He added that Yusuf was the President of the Nigeria Association of Herbal Drugs Producers.
“This obnoxious act by certain unscrupulous element shows that we are in dire need of community policing across the country. It further proves to us that the time for Amotekun is now! Security of lives and properties is our primary responsibility, as a government, and we must take serious measures urgently to address the insecurity menace in the country,” he said.
Mr Alabi said on Twitter on Friday: “Arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators will send a message to others that Oyo state is no go area for such iniquitous actions. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
