Actor and comedian Okey Bakassi has mourned his colleague Mr Ibu with a tribute which got him emotional.
The movie star in an Instagram post on Friday, talked about how Mr Ibu brought so much laughter and joy to those around him and the world at large.
Okey Bakassi posted a compilation of Ibu’s moments and the movies they featured in together as she expressed grief over the death of his friend.
“John Nwaokafor, Mazi Ibu, Nwoke m, stop this expensive joke abeg. Death no fit you. Bro, I dey Canada hear say you don die, I no believe am. So it’s true? You left me speechless bro.
“How can someone who brings so much laughter and joy just die? I no understand this now. Ibu once you enter someone, happiness dey dey, things dey change people go know say you don come.
“I remember when I came to see you at the Military Hospital in Ikoyi, despite your situation, we still managed to share jokes like we always do but I left that hospital feeling devastated because person like you no suppose dey hospital, the stage is where you belong. I silently prayed you would recover, I never knmews the end was in sight. John Ibu, Mazi Okafor, rest in peace my brother,” he said.
Mr Ibu whose real name is John Okafor, died on Saturday at Evercare Hospital in Lagos State after a protracted battle with illness.
