Actress Ibiwari Etuk has mourned her colleague David Osagie, popularly known as Sir David, revealing that the actor died hours after filming on set.
Ibiwari Etuk disclosed this in the comment section of fellow actress Ngozi Ezeh’s Instagram post on Wednesday.
According to Ngozi, “He wasn’t sick, it just happened.”
Ngozi, who first announced Sir David’s death wrote: “Good morning fam, I hate to say this but we have lost another Nollywood king, Sir David. He wasn’t sick, it just happened. How do we explain this, another loss in Nollywood? Oh Lord have mercy. Rest in peace Sir Dave.”
Ibiwari who joined her colleague in mourning said that the actor was on a movie set yesterday and he went home to rest after the shoot, hoping to return today to continue filming.
She wrote: “This can’t be explained o. He filmed yesterday o, went back to rest hoping to resume shoot today but never woke up. Another king role interpreter is gone. What is this o God.”
Another actress Georgina Ibeh also expressed shock over the loss saying, “What is really going on. Uncle David?”
David’s death happened days after fast-rising actress Chinedu Benard was confirmed dead after she slumped while cleaning the Chapel of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Enugu State.
Sir David was best known for his role as king. Some of his movies include My Sorrow My Pain, Agunna and Lost Battle.
