How Florence Ajimobi lost three family members in five years

Florence Ajimobi

Former Oyo State First Lady, Florence Ajimobi, has endured profound personal losses over the past five years, losing her husband, mother and her eldest daughter.

The tragedies began with the death of her husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on June 25, 2020.

The former governor of Oyo State, who served two consecutive terms from 2011 to 2019, died at the age of 70 due to complications related to COVID-19.

His death came as a shock to many, given his influential role in Oyo politics.

A year later, in September 2021, Florence lost her mother, Mrs. Victoria Amudoaghan, at the age of 78.

Mrs. Amudoaghan, a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Surulere, Lagos, was born in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.

She later moved to Lagos, where she married the late Erasmus Amudoaghan.

Her funeral was held in October 2021 in Ndemili Village, Delta State.

The latest tragedy struck on Thursday, March 27, 2025, when Florence’s eldest daughter, Abisola Kola-Daisi, died at the age of 44 after a brief illness in the United Kingdom.

Abisola was a well-known entrepreneur, the founder of Florence H Luxury and the Chairman/CEO of Grandex Nigeria Limited.

Her sudden death has left many in shock, as she was widely regarded as a successful businesswoman and a loving mother.

Fondly known as Abi-KD, she got married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi in 2010 and the union produced three children.

There have also been reports that Florence Ajimobi lost her sister in Lebanon in 2022, though details surrounding this claim remain unclear.
